Oakland
Built in 1979, this spacious West Oakland home features an eclectic exterior style and a decidedly mid-century modern interior and floor plan. The front and back yards were redesigned with new landscaping, adding fig, mulberry, guava, lemon, tangerine and apple trees to blend seamlessly with the mature fruit trees that were already located on the large corner plot. New horizontal-slat fencing was added to modernize the exterior while offering privacy and aesthetic appeal.
The 4 bedroom home was designed meticulously with an East Bay cool aesthetic of mid century pieces and local street art. The kitchen was updated with marble countertops and white subway tiles.
Undoubtedly the most stunning (and unexpected!) space in this home is the loft adjoining the expansive primary bedroom. Sunlit with windows around the entire room, the studio features a freestanding MCM wood-burning stove, and a vaulted ceiling. The mid century style was continued in this space and it was designed to function as the “fun room”.
